Pemex Tower is a skyscraper located in Mexico City at Avenida Marina Nacional 329, Colonia Anahuac, Delegaci n Miguel Hidalgo, west of the city. It is the second tallest skyscraper in Mexico and the third in Latin America with 214 m in height. Its construction was carried out by the architect and Pedro Moctezuma began in 1980, becoming the tallest building in the Mexican Republic in 1982 when it is finished and is greater than the WTC Tower, becoming the tallest building in Latin America until 1984 when it is overtaken by the towers of Central Park in Venezuela.
For 20 years was also the tallest skyscraper in Mexico until 2003 it completed construction of the tallest tower of the Torre Mayor Iberoamerica.
Since its opening this building is occupied by Pemex, the largest in Latin America.
Pemex Tower is considered along with the U.S. Bank Tower, Torre Mayor, Latin American Tower, one of the most resistant skyscrapers in the world and one of the most seismically tolerance at the global level, taking a maximum tolerance of 9.0 on the scale of Richter, besides being one of the five structures with the Taipei 101 in an area of high seismic risk.
